Ruchi Bindra supports technology, privacy and governance work from Calgary and Dubai. She is admitted in Alberta; advice on other jurisdictions is coordinated with locally licensed counsel where required.
Privacy and health information
Canadian privacy work begins by identifying the applicable framework. My practice includes PIPEDA, Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act and Health Information Act, and Quebec Law 25. The organisation’s role, activities, information and cross-border flows inform the assessment. Governance must then reach the operating documents and the system itself.
Technology, transactions and the record
I work with ventures in precision health, AI and data infrastructure on policies, financing documents, technology licensing and joint ventures. Regulatory and litigation experience informs the same question across those matters: what evidence supports the position the organisation is taking?
Canada–UAE and Canada–USA
Cross-border work includes Canada–UAE technology and transaction strategy, together with Canada–USA governance and privacy or AI-readiness support. Advice on the laws of jurisdictions outside Alberta is coordinated with locally licensed counsel where required. A shared language of technology does not make different legal systems interchangeable.
Ruchi Bindra is a member of the Alberta Bar (Barrister & Solicitor) and first qualified as an Advocate in India. Advice on the laws of other jurisdictions, including the UAE and the United States, is provided in coordination with locally licensed counsel where required.
