Areas of practice

Digital & virtual assets

Digital asset advice starts with the rights behind a token and the activities a venture performs. Ruchi Bindra supports UAE and cross-border regulatory strategy, tokenisation structures and governance. Dubai, DIFC and ADGM require distinct analysis; advice on local law is coordinated with appropriately licensed counsel where required.

The problem, made practical

What does this service cover?

  • Regulatory pathway planning for virtual asset and financial-services business models in the UAE and GCC context.
  • Legal analysis of tokenisation structures, underlying rights and the obligations that follow the proposed activity.
  • Governance documentation and defensible product descriptions for founders, boards and investors.
  • Coordination across relevant regulatory ecosystems, including Dubai, DIFC and ADGM, without treating them as interchangeable.

How does the engagement work?

01 / In practice

Define the activity

We describe the product in ordinary legal and commercial terms. The analysis starts with what the venture does and promises, rather than the technology label it adopts.

02 / In practice

Map the pathway

I identify the questions that determine the regulatory route and organise the work with local counsel where required. Product, structure and market choices need to be considered together.

03 / In practice

Build the legal record

We align governance and transaction documents with the proposed model. Public and investor-facing descriptions should say only what the legal structure and operational controls can support.

Before we begin

What should you know before engaging counsel?

Does tokenisation remove the rules applying to the underlying asset?

It should not be assumed to do so. The rights, activity and applicable legal framework require analysis whether they are recorded conventionally or represented through a token.

Is there a single UAE virtual asset pathway?

The relevant authority and rules depend on the location and activity. Dubai outside DIFC, DIFC and ADGM have distinct regulatory contexts that must be assessed separately.

Are you a UAE-licensed attorney?

This site does not represent me as locally admitted in the UAE. I provide cross-border strategy and governance support, with locally licensed counsel involved where required.
