Privacy and AI readiness
For a technology team, readiness begins with the use case, data flows, operating roles and evidence of controls. I help organise that work so it can support informed legal review and implementation. Applicable US requirements depend on the activity and jurisdiction and should be assessed with appropriately licensed counsel.
Canada–USA coordination
A shared product may require different legal analysis on each side of the border. I help technology ventures connect their Canadian governance position to questions raised by US customers, counterparties or advisers. The aim is a coherent operating record with jurisdiction-specific issues kept visible.
A clear division of responsibility
My role is defined at the start of an engagement. Cross-border coordination and governance support do not replace the local advice a matter requires. Where US legal interpretation, representation or formal advice is needed, the relevant work is coordinated with locally licensed counsel.
Ruchi Bindra is a member of the Alberta Bar (Barrister & Solicitor) and first qualified as an Advocate in India. Advice on the laws of other jurisdictions, including the UAE and the United States, is provided in coordination with locally licensed counsel where required.
